Skycraft Road trails

Vista from Skycraft Road

At Low Gap where the road becomes gravel and splits to the right is Skycraft Road. This road, which runs up the mountain ridge for about 1 1⁄2 miles, is only open to vehicular traffic during hunting season. At all other times it is gated and open only to foot traffic. There are two areas of interest at the end of Skycraft Road: a wonderful vista from a ledge accessed by a path at the end of the road on the right, and an old roadbed that’s about seven miles long, skirting the rim of Brumley Mountain and descending Long Hollow, terminating at Route 689 east of Brumley Gap.
