Mexican barn

I was intrigued by this
barn-like structure on Cozumel because the ground around it
was
covered with trash, which I took as a clear sign that the barn wasn't
constructed for tourists. Unfortunately, as I wandered closer to
take a good look, a dog came out barking its head off, so I retreated
to safety and can't tell you anything about the construction other than
what's immediately apparent.

It looks to my untrained
eye like
the roof is a combination of palm
thatching on the
higher part and
corrugated metal on the addition, while the walls are made
stockade-style out of de-barked saplings. The whole thing appears
to be bound together with twine. Is this a traditional Mexican
building? Who knows. It's certainly picturesque, though,
and must have cost very little money (though plenty of time) to build.
